Our Gospel By: Christopher Dysinger “But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Galatians 1:11-12 KJV In his letter to the Galatians the apostle Paul works to assure the church that the message he is preaching did not come from some place within himself. The message he preached was indeed a message from God. Paul received the good news of Jesus from the Lord Jesus Himself while traveling on the road to Damascus. Which means, Paul's declaration about the message being revealed in and through Jesus was not only a spiritual truth, but also a literal reality. If any man in the history of the church could honestly and boldly proclaim he had a message from God it is the apostle Paul. Paul faced the same issues in the church in his day that we, the church, are facing in our own day. This being the proliferation of false prophets, false preachers, and their false professions. The issue of people preaching Satan's lies to anyone who will listen has not abated over the years. To the contrary it has only intensified, and it will continue to be a problem all the way up until the Antichrist; the lie incarnate, is revealed to mankind. It is the spirit of the Antichrist creeping into the hearts and minds of people everywhere which allows for a greater expansion of false preachers and their false gospels in the world and in the church. The spirit of Antichrist is a seducing spirit. “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” 1 Timothy 4:1 KJV This seducing spirit is subtle. It is disguised as something godly and righteous and Christ-centered, but upon close inspection it is found to be worldly and ungodly, and man-centered. The real danger behind the false preachers and their message is in this: the message is presented as a pathway to God when in fact, it is nothing more than something that leads people away from God. The seductive message of the Antichrist however, is not difficult to discern if you know what you are looking for. For the most part the message focuses on the individual and his or her feelings. The seductive message of the Antichrist is not concerned with fact, or with what is true, or with what can be verified. It is solely focused on how you feel. Thus, it is designed to manipulate your emotions. It is much like the commercials that are produced for the American Humane Society. Commercials that use cruelty to animals to present animals in pathetic situations that pull at your heart strings so you will loosen your purse strings. When viewing the commercial most people are oblivious to the fact that the people who made the commercial were being cruel to the animals involved. They only think about how it made them feel. Emotions are easily manipulated which is why they are a poor indicator for what is true, real, or right. For example, when watching a scary movie you know you are in no real danger, but when you see the monster about to attack you get nervous anyway because your senses are heightened and your emotions are in overdrive. The truth is you are in no danger, but your emotions are trying to tell you otherwise. The basis for truth is fact, not emotion and the gospel of Jesus Christ is based upon fact for which we have solid evidence in the Bible. In the Bible we have three eye-witness testimonies for who Jesus is and what He came to do. The Bible also contains one very well written biography taken from eye-witness testimony for the same reason as stated above. In the Bible we have truth in written form. This is why we test all things in our lives and in our church in particular against the Word of God. At Cross Trail Church and Mission the emphasis behind the preaching and teaching ministry is correct and coherent presentation of the truth of God's word. In short, we preach it right and tight. The goal is to lead men and women to Christ not away from Him. As the pastor of Cross Trail Church I challenge you to listen to the messages being presented each week. I challenge you to partake in the Bible study programs with an open Bible before you. Check what we are preaching and teaching against the Word of God and I know you will find we are preaching truth because we are always preaching Jesus. You can follow us every Sunday on Facebook. Just look for Cross Trail Cowboy Ministries, or better yet, if you are close by just drop in and worship with us. You know you are welcome. The End.

“Many of us Christians have become extremely skillful in arranging our lives so as to admit the truth of Christianity without being embarrassed by its implications. We arrange things so that we can get on well enough without divine aid while at the same time ostensibly seeking it. We boast in the Lord, but watch carefully that we never get caught depending on Him.” -A. W. Tozer

Parting Shot After the christening of his baby brother in church one Sunday, the baby's brother sobbed all the way home as he sat in the back seat of the car. Once home the boy's father asked him three times what was the matter. Finally the boy said, “That preacher said that he wanted me and my brother raised in a Christian home and I want to stay with you and mom.” A little boy was feverishly drawing a picture in Sunday school. The teacher watching this asked him, “What are you drawing?” The little boy said, “I'm drawing a picture of God.” The teacher then says, “No one really knows what God looks like.” The boy quickly responded, “Well, they will when I get done.”
