We Are Ambassadors of Christ. By: Chris Dysinger Very recently I preached a message from 2 Corinthians 5 in which I spoke to the church being called to the ministry of reconciliation. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ' stead, be ye reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 KJV I have been called to the ministry of reconciliation which is why I preach the gospel. I am seeking to lead people to Christ through whom they are reconciled to God. However, I am not alone in this endeavor. God has called every believer to the ministry of reconciliation in one way or another. We all share this responsibility in Christ. As the Bible clearly says, “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ.” What is an ambassador? He or she is the highest ranking representative of one country to another. An ambassador can be a special representative or an official messenger. We are all of these things. We are here in this world to represent Christ to the world. Paul says, “as though God did beseech you by us.” Which means when we engage the world with the gospel God is reaching out and speaking through us. And when Paul says, “We pray you in Christ's stead,” he is saying if the Lord Jesus were here right now He would be saying the very same things. As ambassadors of Christ when we plead with people to receive the Lord Jesus by faith its as if the Lord Jesus were pleading through us. What an awesome privilege it is to be an ambassador for Christ. To be called, equipped and sent out as the highest representative of our Lord and King, Jesus. What a privilege and what an awesome responsibility. The Bible tells us there are many witnesses to God in this world. There is the creation itself. There is what we know about God being creations made in His image and having a conscience. There is the law. There are also a lot of silent witnesses to God through His moving in our lives but there is only one witness in the world today with a voice and this is the church. This is you and me. We give a voice to the witness of Christ Jesus because we are ambassadors of Christ who have been given the ministry of reconciliation. This is the heart and soul of Cross Trail Church and its ministries. To fulfill our calling as ambassadors of Christ. This is the heart and soul of Cross Trail Church. We exist to preach Jesus so that men and women will come to Christ by faith thereby being reconciled to God. The difference between us and all the other congregations out there is how we choose to do this. We choose to reach people by being ourselves and we are country. This is why we call ourselves a Western Heritage Church. When I and those with me first began this endeavor I was uncertain of the general direction the Lord was leading. I didn't know exactly where this ministry would go and so I simply set my heart to keep preaching the gospel in whatever way I could. This newsletter is a part of the preaching ministry as are the books I have been writing. The church also facilitates public worship whenever possible and the Faith, Hope, and Life church in Oklahoma City has been a great help to us in this endeavor. The point being, when we started we simply did what we knew to do and waited on the Lord to direct us where He would. Now a new door has been opened to us. I am excited to report that a building has become available for our use in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Therefore, Cross Trail church is moving our operations, missions, and outreach to Blackwell. The building isn't much to look at right now but it certainly has potential. It is a small chapel with living quarters in the back right I the heart of Blackwell. What this building will do is afford me and my family a place to live while we minister. From this base of operations Cross Trail church and ministries can reach out with the gospel. We can hold regular Bible studies and public worship services. I can continue with the work I am doing writing books and producing Bible study materials through Cross Trail Publishing. I can also pick up where I left off in Kay County with the Fresh Start jail ministry. Putting the church and ministry in Blackwell is an open door of opportunity. What is more this is where I feel the Lord is leading. The message I am receiving from God is that there is still work left to do in Kay county. The truth be told I felt I was being led to minister in and out of Blackwell even while pastoring the First Baptist church of Newkirk. Without a doubt God has opened the door for us to minister in and out of Blackwell Oklahoma and now we are looking for ministry partners. Cross Trail Church needs your help. We are praying and asking God to provide us with $10,000.00 to help with moving expenses and with getting the church up and running. I am asking all my friends, my family, and my brothers and sisters in Christ to consider helping us in some way. There are many ways you can help. First, through thoughts and prayers. Please intercede with God on our behalf. Ask Him to bless Cross Trail Church and Ministries with a powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit. Ask the Holy Spirit to move on Blackwell and Kay county Oklahoma and bring a great revival. Second, you can lend a hand physically. If you would like to help with cleaning up the new building we would greatly appreciate it. Simply contact me through Crosstrailchurch@gmail.com. If you have a missions team that would like to help not only with the remodel but also with outreach, please send me an email. We can get this done. Third, we are in need of finances. If you feel you could help this ministry in any way with a financial donation of any amount. we would offer our praise and gratitude to God for you seeking His blessings on you. You can send monetary donations by mail to Cross Trail Church. 3225 SW 82nd St. Oklahoma City, OK. 73159. Finally, you can also help Cross Trail Church and ministries by purchasing the books we have available on Amazon. All the proceeds from book sales go straight back into the ministry.
